Empowering Women's Health
Each year, nearly 130 million women experience persistent recurrent vaginal yeast infections that cause physical pain and emotional distress. Current treatment options only temporarily halt disease symptoms. Our targeted peptide vaccines are specifically designed to meet this clinical need by preventing vaginal yeast infections, breaking the cycle of disease, and restoring female reproductive health and self-confidence.
The Candisera Therapeutics™ team is led by co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Brian Peters. Dr. Peters is a leading expert in studying both host and fungal mechanisms that drive symptomatic vaginal yeast infection and his laboratory has published numerous high-impact manuscripts in this field. In addition to his role at Candisera Therapeutics™, he holds the title of Professor and First Tennessee Chair of Excellence within the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he runs a laboratory focused on fungal pathogenesis and novel treatment modalities to prevent and treat fungal infections. He has secured over $10 million in NIH and institutional funding to date.
